Classic Game Room reviews E.V.O. SEARCH FOR EDEN for the Super Nintendo from 1993! Start life as a fish and evolve as you fight your way through billions of years to save Gaia or something...E.V.O. is notable for being rare and creative as you manage your creature's evolution process, eat enemies for points, spend points on horns. teeth and legs then battle end bosses. It's it a love it or leave it kind of game and definitely interesting! CGR EVO Search for Eden video review features E.V.O. game play recorded from Super Nintendo SNES. Evolve or be eaten, grrrr!!!!

This one one of the very Rare Occasions where I have to disagree with Mark. This one right here is one of the best in some way most underrated games on the system. Sure, it has it´s share of flaws, but it is a nice diversion from regular RPG´s and the massive load of plattformers on the SNES.

I loved this game as a kid, but I do remember having to grind a lot to get the good stuff.

And I must say, I'm surprised to see that the comment section isn't full of people pretending to be filled with righteous anger over this game teaching evolution to kids.

I love this game. It is a bit slow but the nice atmosphere and big variety of different evolutions makes up for it.

Oh man, I love this game.. I've beaten it so many times, maybe I should go play it again..
Also the soundtrack will drive you insane.

It's a shame you weren't able to get into it. This game is one of the best for SNES in my opinion. The grinding doesn't take _that_ long, and it's fun to progress from being a weakling to the top of the food chain in each of the major eras. The boss battles were also very well done and extremely difficult. It felt great to finally beat them. The music, the story, and the artwork were all top-notch as well. I suppose it's not for everyone, but I love this game.

this is an example of the madness of life that you could spend 1000 hours playing crazy dinosaur fish game madness

I beat this whole game in an afternoon in 2009. I was stuck in a house that had a SNES and only this game and had to play long enough for a check to clear so I could buy food. The whole game made sense until the end when the last boss is this super blob monster that was really strange and you played as a human-ish dude.

Ran into a gentleman that had an El Camino just like yours at Autozone yesterday.  He was replacing headlights, me ignition coil, we both spoke of the "joys" of repairing early 80s GM products!

A truly unique and entertaining gem of a game.  There are a couple of pretty cool games ENIX did for the SNES that are similarly creative and different.

When you take the first bite you lose -3 (rendered in white) but you don't lose health or evolution points. so what is that?

I loved this game growing up, must have rented it a dozen times. The amphibian part is definitely the hardest but its worth it to get to the next level a be a fucking dinosaur. The trick to that game is bank up points before a boss fight and evolve horns or body size when HP gets low, it'll restore your health each time.

The "grind" is the game. The story is just there to push you into the next area as you practice Darwinism.
