I am a boho gal so I liked the boho styles and would find different ways to style the bold prints. Each to their own. It's all about wearing what we love and feel amazing in.

Great video Lydia! Of course everyone’s choice of clothing is different but I’ve learnt from you that by picking something more basic or neutral means you’re able to dress it up or down, or change the look by adding a belt or different accessories and that way people don’t realize you’re wearing the same dress!

When choosing a summer dress, the most practical consideration is to be able to wear it with my regular underwear! :)

Floral dresses in summer are timeless. Just choose the right color combination and silhouette and you'll be fine

I love the way you articulate so carefully what aspects of clothes cheapen it etc. It makes me more evaluative about my clothes.

Classy, style, timeless, ageless, and quality! Thank you!

I don't get all the complaints in this video. If you're a long-time subscriber, you should know her style by now - which would, I assume, be very similar to yours hence you subscribed. If you just came across this video and you dont like it, move along it's not for you. Yes I know freedom of speech blah blah blah you are allowed to disagree and voice it out sure. But she's not holding you hostage or making you pay her your hard earned cash and there's also this thing called freedom of choice. Choose to ignore the video and watch other stylists that suit your style more. My point is - stop with all the negativity. She's not hurting anyone. Just because you are free to say what you want doesn't mean you should.

I used to dress in classic style especially in the corporate years but now that I’m older and removed from corporate life, I switched to boho.

This is definitely one of your greatest videos, Lydia! Thank you for showing out these dresses and commenting so clever & detailed on each. I honestly think we havr too many outdated or weirdly designed dresses, especially on sale every year.

Loved the Sezane white Broderie Anglaise dress. Broderie Anglaise is so much classier than the cheap polyester lace seen in the swerve dress! A different technique in the making altogether, it’s never really been out of style since the 19th century! Love your videos Lydia ❤

What a refreshing video ❤! Someone with an opinion - who backs up her choice. A lot of thought has gone into the creation of this video. She make it clear that it’s not easy to dress well, it takes thought and effort like everything in life. Keep up the amazing work.

Let me just say I'm old enough to have seen many styles come and go. In general I love your eye for clothes and your criteria for selecting. I don't get your aversion to that gorgeous blue floral dress with the diagonal pattern--to me it looks like a fabulous summer garden party--and the colors are classically Chinese-gorgeous. I also don't get the the long sack over the head--the red one and the white one. Maybe because I'm petite. In my opinion this style would overwhelm most people. That being said, I find most of your picks are really great.

Great choices Lydia. My favorite was the Karen Milen poplin white dress. I love all of her pieces so much. Ty!

Great video! It would really be nice if you could include styling tips for those of us that are short. It seems most of your recommendations will only look good on someone tall!

I love your style and your advice. I admire the courage of all influencers because I wouldn't be able to deal with all dislike comments on a daily basis.

Some constructive criticism: I think the title is misleading. You give your personal opinion and preferences, which is perfectly fine. Just call the video "what I will and will not buy this summer".

Saying "what to buy and what not buy" evokes the expectation of general advice for everyone and every type like "look out for these materials, avoid these materials" or "question the practicality of this trend" etc. Or even, "let's look at My Summer favorites, what I personally WILL buy and why. Materials, cuts, colours etc"

Just differentiate between personal opinions/ favorites (which is fine) and giving general advice without opinions (like "linen is more breathable than polyester").
Both are fine, but may attract different people and evoke different expectations.

I love the combination of bold block colours (bright orange and bright blue especially) - they look so good on me! I used to like muted neutral colours until one day I decided to take photos of all the combinations I could get of my wardrobe and then from those photos I realised how bad I looked in all those neutrals. I guess we really have to understand what works best for our unique selfs. I like Lydia's take on the quality of details, shapes and materials though. But you definitely can curate a minimalist style without giving up on colour 🧡💙

I admire your fashion sense. Watching your videos now in my mid 40s. I thoroughly enjoyed my younger years wearing prints, florals, full on colors and styles that suited me. It's been a few years since I've started to wear neutral colors and classic styles because personally i cannot tolerate too florally dresses now. I'm treading the thin line between dressing my age and trying not to look older than my age. Classic styles tend to make one look older.
