I always thought tail-strikes happen when tails aren't getting paid enough.

I love these little short bites of knowledge. I just wish YouTube would have notified me as I have your channels set on notify for all and I'm not getting notified of your shorts (not sure if that's how it's meant to be but it's annoying as heck if that's what they've chosen to do)

Fun fact: The Concorde had a rear-landing gear to prevent tail strikes as it is the fastest commercial airliner

Most tail strikes I saw was on certification tests! It`s a great show to watch! (as long as you not really be a part of it)

and they can suffer a tailstrike before pushback if the cargomaster makes a critical mistake.

> The *Concord* had a 18" dia. ½ recessed wheel in its tail because of the high angle of attack at take off & landing due to poor lift from its stubby delta wings that required vector thrusting by engine blast for necessary lift.

What are the repercussions for the pilot?

Tail strikes are actually more common on landings than takeoffs.

Does this damage the aircraft? Can a plane continue to fly with a pressurised cabin? How many tail strikes could a plane withstand before it’s grounded? It must cost a lot to repair the damage?

“Why airplane tailstrike?”
-Because the pilot don’t know how to take off 😃👌🏽

Or maybe it's just Overloaded as usual; jam-packed with "Fattys & Freight".

I experience two tail strikes on the same flight. It was my first and second tail strike in 40+ years of flying with modern human airlines.

Also they happen on carrier landings for TailHook™️ equipped A380s when landing on the USS Nimitz.
