I'm hooked on the GuildSomm vids. This one was special. We spent the day walking the Alto Balzano and at the end of the day we descended by the apple orchards and then into the area with vineyards . One of the surprises along the way, we discovered an area of hoodoos. We had some wine of course and time was slipping away. Our hotel in Balzano was going to be a trek into the night. Just as we were losing the light on the narrow road a good samaritan picked us up and delivered us to our hotel. He had Nashville country music on the radio, what a hoot! That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Thanks GuildSommm for the flashback. I'll bet not many tourist stop here, but if you like walking and wine, I recommend it.

I'm fortunate to go here 2-4 times a year for business - staying around Meran/Merano. Beautiful, stunning area - great food, wine, and people. Last trip I had a Praepositus Kerner from Abbazia di Novacella.. amazing.

Superb Gewurtztraminer from Sanct Valentin. Hard to find in Tokyo

Why does she keep calling it altro Adige? It doesn't exist, you fail a level one wine course with comments like that

all the CMS students deserve to know that Bolzano IS NOT the hottest city in Italy and Aldo Adige IS NOT affected by Mediterranean climate.

Autonomous region?! Ahhh not so much. Maybe mentally, but not politically or legislative.
