Thank you for this! I grew up in and out of foster care and later spent time in juvenile facilities. As an adult, I've provided respite care and advocated nationally for changes in the foster care system. And recently, I became a social worker. Thank you for this video and all you do to help the children. The movies "Girl Lost" and "Girl Lost: A Hollywood Story" are very sad and brutal films that honestly portray the lifestyle of many kids who would (or should for that matter) end up in the foster care system, but sadly slip through the cracks. TW: sexual abuse, underage prostitution and sex trafficking. Not for kids.

I really enjoy your videos! I have one movie that I felt is worth sharing. It's called Foster Boy. The movie stars a young black man as he fights for justice after wrong doing involving a wealthy foster agency and other children in care. He finds help in a high profile lawyer who at first glance believed he was nothing but a thug and wants nothing to do with him or the case. Thank you for all your videos and shinning light and education on the foster care system and sharing some of your experience. :)

Great video!!! I think the only one we have seen is Instant Family, definitely going to have to check those others out. When we watched Instant Family, the hair brush scene was almost identical to a similar situation we went through. So many relatable scenes for us. 😁❤️

I would also recommend the movie Camp. The one from 2013. It shows great examples of different things foster kids experience and is about a foster kid who goes to camp for kids in care. It’s based on a true story and I was able to work one of these camps. It’s was a great experience to help these kids have a opportunity to go to camp like any other kid. I am working on being a foster parent but for now that was just one way I could help. The movie is really good I recommend.
