The actress and director was served legal documents in front of a packed crowd while promoting her new film, “Don’t Worry Darling” at the film conference on Tuesday.

When you’re served papers, that means you ignored multiple attempts of them trying to reach out. You have to step up and face it or else they have no choice🥳

I have seen people served papers at funerals, beauty salons and on their way to surgery. They had reached out to her at some point to serve her the papers privately and she either refused or didn't respond. It might have been inappropriate but had she responded to the private request, she wouldn't have been embarrassed.

The only way they do it publicly is if you ignore their calls or visits to the house... I'm pretty sure she didn't want to answer and finally they found her and served her .

Process servers will usually try to reach you first to ask if you want to meet somewhere private. They will only come to you in a public place or at work if they can’t reach you by phone to set up an appointment.

Being a lawyer who files lawsuits, a process server only goes when and where they're told. Serving her onstage was decided by the attorneys b/c they knew that she'd be there then. Most likely his attorneys asked her attorneys if she'd accept service and they said no.

Well she stung him along for 7 years, then cheated on him, and then made herself intentionally unavailable to the servers. This is what she gets. I mean she's irrelevant at this point so it won't affect the little bit of career she has left

That's cold but she probably didn't answer her door at home. They will always find a way to serve the papers but still cold.

I speculate she was served in public because she dodged the process servers everywhere else. Regardless, it's not illegal to serve someone in this capacity.

She’s not going to tell you that she hid out in her house when they try to serve her at home. If you dodge being served in private you’re likely to get served in public. I guarantee you the server did not go through all of what he had to go through to get in that place as his first attempt to serve.

usually people get served in odd situations like that when they've been unable to get to them other ways. If she has people actively keeping them being able to get to her to serve papers they are going to use a situation like this where they know where she is going to be. My gut instinct is this is the result of her people covering for her.

What security protocols? Process servers are officers of the court and have a legal right to serve anyone and in any public place. Any security officer or person who knowingly obstructs a process server in their offical duty by the court is a crime under obstruction of justice legal codes (class B misdemeanor).

Olivia didn’t even have to open the envelope. She was in the middle of giving a speech in front of thousands, but she could’ve taken the envelope, held it under her arm and opened it later in private. She didn’t have to make it a huge spectacle where she basically invited everyone into her relationship breakdown

Are we supposed to feel bad for someone who so clearly left a committed relationship for a younger man and was obviously ducking and dodging the legal process of being served so much so that they had to do it publicly? Because i dont.

Yes, it was inapropiate, but I need to know The mame of the delivery guy. Cause he really delivers never could find her in her House. And took the time to get cinemacom credentials just to deliver the document.
