Palestinians in Gaza are returning home to find overwhelming destruction

UN figures show nine out of 10 homes in Gaza have been destroyed or damaged.
As Gaza residents return to their hometowns for the first time in months, many are finding their neighbourhoods in ruins with no access to water, electricity or sanitation services.

Al Jazeera spoke to Palestinians searching for traces of their former lives among the ruins.
