Mixed feeling..
Some of those animals (specially birds) were taken very good care of and seemed real well.. but then those snakes, meerkats and other wild species.. it was just sad seeing them either stressed or sad

Oof- It broke my heart to see so many large snakes kept in such tiny enclosures. I wonder what kind of life that 20 year old python has lived...

I was born and raised in Dubai and let me tell you this is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to exotic animals being sold. I am a firm believer that wild animals belong in their rightful habitat and NOT in cages. Sure some of the cages are clean and maintained well, but it's quite sad to see overcrowding in some of them as well. Its all about the status you hold and how well you can 'flex' that, which started the exotic trade. I have visited this place a few times and truly feel for all the animals that are caged up for days. The ones that get sold are considered the 'lucky ones' because God only knows what happens to the ones that aren't sold. When asked, every store owner says the same thing "they go back to the farm". It is just heart breaking to see this being done in one of the most developed countries in the world.

The large parrots were taken care of. But it was sad seeing the other animals. The squirrels next to the snakes were terrified. And the puppies and kittens that were individually in those glass containers instead of with other puppies and kittens they could play with was sad.

A friend lives in Dubai... money doesn't make people thoughtful, either buying these " pets" or how they are acquired. Very sad .

so many animals in this video show stress and health problems and just because its legal to sell, doesnt mean its ok to sell. it kind of sad to see when you know stuff about all that animals.

It's really sad to think about a lot of the exotic animals like the toucan because they where probably wild caught.

the puppy thing- it used to be normal in the US about 10 years ago but now people usually buy directly from breeders

Honestly this isn't too different from some American pet stores and they are a lot cleaner than most store I've been too in the states as well. I'm very pleased with the cleanliness of everything they showed. In places like this too it seems like the sell rate is very high too, so the animals aren't there for long.

Pretty sad to see this. Toucans (endangered ) are found in South American rainforests, not sure what this one is doing in this desert :(

While I'm not a fan of all of this and think the enrichment is lacking (to say the least) they did all look mostly healthy and clean. That is better than a lot of places I've been!

Has anyone else noticed that in most stores didn't have food or water available for the animals inside the cages? I think animals needs to have water and food inside the cages 24h.

It’s really sad to see exotic animals being sold as “pets”. There are so many Animals that deserve to be in the Wild where they belong.

It’s one thing to see them in Zoos or Sanctuaries; however, I feel like a majority of the Animals you showed us aren’t supposed to be in our Homes.

The insensitivity and vanity of Dubai... just very sad! Someone once said, you can measure the character of a nation and it's people by the way it treats it's animals.
Unfortunately, nothing new under the sun. 😣 😥

I don’t understand how you can promote those kind of shop. Even if you say owners love their animals, it’s just animal cruelty

It was great to see your shock and view you evaluating your ethics. Most of the birds I saw are birds you can have legally in most countries. I would think a majority of these are captive-bred for logistics and because they want the babies to be hand-fed for tameness, but birds absolutely do get smuggled and it wouldn't surprise me if they end up in places like this. Re your questions about the dogs: no, it's not okay how they're kept. Most of these conditions were heavily crowded, filthy, improper, and stressful, but it's important to remember that absolutely happens at shops in the US.

I was really impressed with the parrots.. they had all their feathers and the animals didn't look stressed.

Say what you want about Dubai, I have yet to go in a fish store not selling plecos to kids with a 10g aquarium or smaller with no issue.. let’s fix our own problems before we start to talk crap about other countries
