Welcome to TEchi World Walk! On exploring the Concourse Neighborhood,, I went through the former Mullaly Park, now renamed Reverend T. Wendell Foster Park. I also started from East 167th Street and Grand Concourse instead of the Yankee Stadium general area. However, this is my first time walking the concourse neighborhood from this angle. The sun was out, and not a cloud in the sky. The walk was a blast, as usual. Enjoy this walk exploration with me virtually. Concourse Neighborhood
Concourse is a neighborhood in the southwestern section of the New York City borough of the Bronx, which includes the Bronx County Courthouse, the Bronx Museum of the Arts, and Yankee Stadium. Its boundaries, starting from the north and moving clockwise, are East 169th Street to the north, Webster Avenue to the east, the Metro-North Railroad's Hudson Line to the south, and Jerome Avenue to the west. The neighborhood is divided into three subsections: West Concourse, East Concourse, and Concourse Village, with the Grand Concourse being its main thoroughfare.
The neighborhood is part of Bronx Community Board 4, and its ZIP Codes are 10451 and 10452. The local subway lines are the IND Concourse Line (B and D trains), operating along the Grand Concourse, and the IRT Jerome Avenue Line (4 train), operating along River Avenue. The area is patrolled by the NYPD's 44th Precinct.

Mullaly Park is now Reverend T. Wendell Foster Park
Mullaly Park was renamed Reverend T. Wendell Foster Park in 2021 as part of the second phase of NYC Parks’ initiative to expand the representation of African Americans honored in parks. Reverend Wendell T. Foster (1924-2019) was a civil rights advocate and the first Black elected city official in the Bronx.

I really love the Bronx. I am British but came over to NY in 1987 to work as a roofer for a couple of years and had an absolutely wonderful time there. We worked on flat and pitched roofs between Manhattan and White Plains, so saw a good cross-section of Bronx neighbourhoods. I loved the people, the stunningly bright weather summer AND winter, and the buzz of excitement there. People from London find it hard to find a matching level of excitement anywhere else, but the Bronx has it. Thank you for bringing back wonderful memories.
