The Creative Uprising is Constitution Hill’s ongoing program designed to develop and elevate creative talent within a variety of art forms including music, film, art, design, dance, theatre and poetry.
Every year for the last 8 years our creative community have come together in June to celebrate Basha Uhuru. Our 2020 edition of the Basha Uhuru Freedom Festival was a casualty of the pandemic. But it forced us to become tech savvy and evolve…

The Creative Uprising Festival will bring us back together, live and online to showcase, celebrate and nurture creative talent through art, music, film, art, design, dance, theatre and poetry. It is our response to support our creative community most affected by the current COVID-19 crisis.
Not just a once a year event, the Creative Uprising will be birthed in 2020 but will grow into a “always on” programme, unleashing creative potential & creativity on the Hill.
The COVID-19 pandemic creates a need for creative collaboration to present a user experience that resonates with the creative community, is innovative, exciting, informative and provides access to markets.
