As a 90s kid I miss this era of games. Atmosphere was everything when graphics were minimal and boy did they nail it with Daggerfall

I drooled all over the review pages of this game, back when it came out. A groundbreaker for sure. Love many of the old rendering techniques used, like the castles appearing out of the fog and sky backdrop. Some very good pixel art in here. Scope seems a bit over the top, but hey - proved it could be done for fantasy, like Elite proved for space games.

The foundation to a great series! This gsme may have its faults and obviously mixed opinions but, I beleieve this plays a pivotal role in the growth in one of the most renowned RPG series to this day. I enjoy its charm, It's attempt at such a vast open world and how in depth it is in comparison to others by this date.

Yeah it's not going to be for everyone but, if I had this back then, I would have been blown away. Admittedly it took me a bit to warm up to it, but I'm so glad I did. Could have been a lot worse than its been made out to be by some. Classic RPG here (imo).

Any tips on leveling a bit faster? (And does that even help the game or make all enemies stronger by side effect?)
I have a stock general character (good at both melee and magic) and I'm forever stuck at Level 7... I need to level up in order to progress with the Main Quest... It's been like 2 full weeks of gameplay without leveling up now...

It almost 2024 and finally playing Skyrim (which still holds up, but combat mechanics seems outdated), but this was painful to watch (and probably play). Granted it was released 1996, but I still play a bunch of games released around that time.

This is very bad long play.
It's basically a speedrun.
No fantasy, no art.
All hasten.
Don't show the game in good way.

Not to mention, it's streched from 4:3 to 16:9, so everything looks ugly and distorted.
