Zelensky went to the front lines more than once. That man is a hero!

The answer to your question of why russian leaders never visit the frontline lies in one of your recent videos.
The value of human life. Ordinary people and specially soldiers mean very little to russian leadership.

Thought-provoking video! I remember, before I served in Vietnam, President Johnson addressing U.S. Marines at El Toro Marine Corps Air Station in California before they boarded transport planes to Vietnam. As a teenager, I was impressed by his visit and awed by the Marines. We were on an outing, when the announcement came on the radio. We stopped at the base to watch him address hundreds of Marines lined up in battle gear before departure. Johnson also visited U.S. troops in Vietnam in a surprise visit.

When I was in the United States Marine Corps, President Nixon visited and inspected my unit. Boosted our morale.

In a democracy worst case scenario is that leaders have to pay the price with their resignation if the citizens goals are not fulfilled. In an autocracy like Russia it is the citizens that have to pay the price with their lives if the leaders goals are not fulfilled.
Your leaders, they don’t care, their view is that everybody and everything are consumables for their ambitions.

Hello
I pray for those who give they lives on this special operation. I pray for those innocent Ukraine citizens who have done nothing wrong. I pray for justice for those responsible and those who facilitated this special operation. Power and greed

I’m no royalist, but here in the UK our Prince Harry (the queens second son) saw active service in Afghanistan, and not in a half-baked way. Hats off to him for that.

I remember the years of Gorbachev. It was very exciting that Russia had a very nice, charismatic leader. He smiled!!!! I realized the difference as a young teen. My dad was big on pointing out history. Oh how I wish wonderful years ahead for Russia!

The current Russian leader knows it would be very risky to visit the front line as he would be at high risk of being eliminated by his own troops. That is also the reason why he only sits at 50 meter long desks when having meetings. The NRA in America that Russia has funded does not allow guns in their meetings either.

The reasons for the lack of front line visits is simply one of who OWNS the country. In a democracy the people OWN the country and the leaders work for them whereas in a dictatorship, (regardless of its official name or classification), the leader is the state owner and the people are his property. In addition a dictator comes to fear those he owns and worries about assassination. Hitler suffered many assignation attempts and so being a state owner means watching your back and not taking risks. Russian soldiers killed the Tsar and caused the revolution and in Germany Hitler suffered many attempts on his life by his generals and the like. Russia has never quite made it into a democracy. Western countries do not have "Kill" squads to ensure their soldiers fight because each western soldier is fighting for his family and the country he owns! My grandfather volunteered for the army in Australia at the age of 45 and fought in the Pacific. At the age of 66 I would also volunteer to fight and protect my family such is the idea of duty to, and ownership of, my country.

I swear you must have been a historian in a previous life 😊 You are obviously a deep thinker and teacher, the observations you make are so interesting. All the things you are chronicling are so important. Plus I have enjoyed the trips you make to show us areas of your beautiful country. 👍

I never see your livestream, but thank you for your time and perspectives. Edit: Go back? From the western perspective, Russia's government never changed, it was a dictatorship and still is a dictatorship.

Your messages always give a different perspective to things. As an American I had never realized or thought about just how removed the Russian leadership was from even the appearance of having any contact with the general Russian population. It says much about how Russia and it's citizens felt with each other.
