Get the K&N off and put it in the nearest bin. The car produces more torque and power with the original air filter and housing from the factory. The K&N is much smaller in surface area so has huge holes, meaning it doesn't filter as well as a much bigger paper element. It blocks faster and performance degrades faster.
The noise you hear is the restriction of air going in.
Paper filters, housings and cold air intakes are designed after manufacturers spend millions on research and development. They are designed to pass way more air than the engine needs at full RPM.

Would love to see a series or more info on more potential euro5 to 6 ULEZ Cars.

I've an F31 330d xDrive M Sport with all the options. Stage 1 and Eibach springs. Best all rounder ive ever owned. Absolutely love it

Really enjoyed the video and the ULEZ information. As the same thing for me has happened.
I own a Mk1 2003 Focus RS and live within the ULEZ greater London expansion zone. The car is only a summer show car we dont use it much but the ULEZ rules are still £12.50 each time. The RS itself is a EURO 3 but i was told by the MoT garage i use that the engine meets EURO 4 requirements and i should contact TFL which i did and sent then the details of my engine and a letter from my MoT inspector.
TFL contacted me say yes the car is ULEZ compliant and sent me the email confirmation, i then put my registration into many ULEZ checker sites (including the TFL) site and yes indeed the RS is showing ULEZ complaint.

Great video, didn't realise my euro 5 car might be compliant with ULEZ. Just a minor tip - chapter markers to describe the sections of the video are very useful.

Great honest (more every day, every man/woman) review, much more refreshing than a lot of the other reviews out there.

Sound advice at last someone is recommending oil changes at 6 to 8000 oil is cheap engines aren't. No matter what a manufacturer recommends I always do oil at 6000.

As an xdrive owner I definitely agree 4wd is worth it for everyday driving, even if you do lose a bit of BMWness, because you can use all that power out of junctions & roundabouts without clenching. The touring version also makes it a much more well-rounded car.

I think the 3 is a little unrefined though—quite crashy, a bit too much wind & tyre noise, etc. I didn't buy a 5 because I told myself I didn't need all that space, but the extra refinement makes it worthwhile.

Liked that Jay! Firstly would you please do a short idiots guide to the ULEZ? I have a w reg e46 323ci not compliant an 05 plate 330ci is compliant & a 13 plate f20 120d not compliant but I think that one probably is. Really informative video for example the 120d & the cooper d I had before sit just above 2000rpm at 70mph & ngl it actually annoys me as I know ideally for better mpg I need to be under 2k. I actually often sit at around 65 & spend a few more minutes getting to wherever I’m going. Thank you

Really great video and overall assessment and guidance. Thanks.
By the way, I have the 330D GT version. Not quite as sleek looking as the saloon or touring but a great all round comprise.. and a bit different.

Good review. I had an Xdrive one of these. Love the gearbox. Ride was surprisingly good (It had the adaptive suspension). Great all rounder. The numb steering was the worst aspect for me. I missed the hydraulic steering from my E46. I much prefer the LCI rear lights.

E90 lci later models had electric steering but fell miles better than f30

330d f series mapped is hands down best daily performance economy looks handling it has it all.

Got one my self 👌

Great vid Jay! Sending love from NZ I'm excited to see what you've got in store for us this year! Would love to see you review a 2zz or k-swapped MR-2 spyder ;) Maybe even pit it against an Elise to see how they compare

Just stumbled across this channel, very good content and nice format, can you do a similar video on the Panamera 3.0d? There isn’t one on YouTube other than Harry metcalfe and Harris but they were when then Pan was new.

My 2005 petrol NA Subaru Legacy estate is ulez and clean air compliant. Didn't have to do a thing with it! I think theres just a slim number of model year cars that actually are non ulez (which they keep quiet about).

I believe the pre lci F30 is only ulez compliant if the option ‘Blue performance’

I’m willing to be proven wrong but I’m pretty certain in this instance. Look the vin up for this car and you will see that option listed.

I think the option was only available after around 6 months of production and became standard on the very last pre lci 330d’s like this one.

Normally 330d emit more than 0.08.

I honestly believe you don’t need much more than this perfect all rounder
