Liz Cheney recently has been campaigning for Kamala Harris for the 2024 presidential contest against Donald Trump and some folks on the left are quite upset about this. Kyle Kulinski shares his opinion which I break down in this video.

Would love to have you on Krystal Kyle & Friends to discuss our disagreement!

I like a lot of what you're doing here, but Kyle Kulinski is supporting Kamala Harris. This commentary made it sound as if Kulinski is determined to deny her support. He regards Donald Trump as an existential threat, making Harris a given.

Obligatory reminder that Reagan not only failed to cut the deficit but also raised taxes more than he ever lowered them.

Harris did not have to say she was honored to have Dick Cheneys endorsement. She could have just said great to hear he agrees trump should not win.

I honestly think that Kyle has grown so much as a leftie that he wouldn’t even agree with the force the vote proposal if it were talked about today. He’s become more like Vaush and Pakman in terms of their strategic thinking of making gains. But he’s my favorite political commentator because he gives credit where it’s due and criticizes when it’s due, so his coverage is pretty fair even if I disagree with his takes sometimes. It’s nice to follow a channel that isn’t purely partisan

They Cheneys have been very clear that they don't endorse Harris' policies, but they see Trump is that great of a threat. Not much of an endorsement! As far as Harris' unpopularity, she is both not far-left or far-right, I'm far-left, am I excited about Harris, no. Am I terrified about Trump, YES! A poll with a binary choice only answers the single question asked, and doesn't reveal why.

1) no candidate can control who endorses them.
2) getting an endorsement from ones political opposite is actually quite an accomplishment.

People saying that this means Harris agrees with either Cheney are just idiots.

I watch a lot of Kyle Kulinski, David Pakman, Destiny, Vaush, and others. I think you’re a level-headed voice that is much needed in the online left.

Case in point. All the leftists that said they would vote for her if she chose Tim Waltz as running mate only to back track when she actually did it

I completely agree with everything you said. The fact that the Cheney's are not only voting for a Democrat, but out campaigning for one I think makes a point to a lot of moderates and old school conservatives that the Republican Party under Trump is so far gone that it would be better for like-minded old school conservatives to vote for Kamala. Having the Cheney's out campaigning for you is another way of saying that it's gotten so insanely bad on the other side that even people who formerly were held up as the opposition are now with us.

Plus yeah, like you say, these online extremely leftists like Brianna Joy Gray have zero intention of ever voting for Kamala. They only want to virtue signal and complain. They don't care about securing material gains at all. Their minds are poisoned into thinking both sides are equally evil or at least both so evil that you can't justify voting for either one. In their mind, anyone a bit less than perfect in their eyes is irredeemably bad and not worth voting for. There is no point in pouring resourcing into trying to change their minds. Trying to go for moderates who may prefer Trump on certain policies like economic and tax policies but who can't stand his anti-democratic rhetoric and actions is much more likely to bear fruit. I actually have family members who are exactly this type of voter. I have family members who are much more Mitt Romney/Adam Kinzinger/John Kasich types, but will be voting for Harris because they think Trump is an authoritarian who has no knowledge of foreign policy. These are the types of voters that will hold their nose and vote for a Democrat this time and aren't as unreasonable as the far left is acting right now.

Campaigning with Liz Cheney probably wont make her lose that many leftist votes but it will definitely lessen the enthusiasm which is just as important.

OK, so i have to point out on the whole 'force the vote' issue, Kyle was on board with that idea in the very beginning, but backed off of it shortly afterwards cause he saw the writing on the wall. He wasn't with the Dore's and the Joy Gray's who took it all the way. He backed out pretty early cause he actually knows what he's talking about.

I think youre misunderstanding Kyle here, in that he prioritises his values and ethics over political maneuvering.
From a pragmatic perspective youre right, but he comes from a point of staying consistent and true to yourself, doing what is right rather than what is effective

On the point of progressives upset that Kamala isn't going far enough left, here's where I stand:

I also live and vote in California, possibly THE safest blue state in the country. Knowing that, I voted Howie Hawkins in 2020 (Green Party). Because I was disgusted by how the establishment neoliberal democrats rallied around Joe Biden in the primary, in a blatantly transparent "Anyone but Bernie Sanders" move. And I was just in general displeased with their candidate BEING a status quo establishment neoliberal.

But here's the thing: I was very mindful about what message I was trying to send with my vote. Which in 2020 was "The less of a lock California becomes for the Democrats, the (hopefully) more likely they'll realize they need to come further left or lose their base."

But in 2024, I fully intend to vote Kamala Harris. By picking Tim Walz as her VP and supporting what he accomplished in Minnesota, supporting anti-price gouging policies, and supporting higher child tax credits, she has shown me that she is a noticeable step to the left of Biden. Would she have been my first choice to replace Biden? Absolutely not. Has she come far enough left to meet me where I personally stand on policy? Far from it.

But I am going to vote for her, because the message of my vote this year is "I like that she's a step further left. DO THAT MORE, PLEASE."

(Side note: If you or anyone you know ever considers not voting because they don't like either the Democrats or Republicans, encourage them to at least vote third party. Neither party will care about people not voting, because they think you don't care. Both parties will notice if millions vote third party, and will consider what they can do to get your vote next time.)

As someone who lives in a county that was republican since the civil war in pennsylvania and now is switching democrat because of Moderate Republicans. I'm here to tell you that these anti MAGA republican endorsements matter! My county has an extreme high turnout rate!

Hutch I disagree with your framing here: we're not scared of Liz Cheney's inclusion, and anyone is welcome to endorse, but you do not have to have them on stage and PRAISE a war criminal for "standing up for democracy" just because he likes you. It honestly reminds me of trump: like me and i praise you. Nothing about what Dick Cheney did in office was democratic. But for us, it speaks to a larger symptom of capitulation to the right that we find unnecessary. You disagree that it is, but that's our POV - that there is a broad base of support on the left being left in the cold in favor of support for a genocide, capitulation to the right on the border issue, and inclusion of people like CBP guards and tech billionaires *on stage* at the DNC while a Palestinian-American who wanted to endorse her was not allowed to speak. It doesn't feel like a democratic party anymore, it feels like Republicans without MAGA.

Love having your voice around man, we need normal, sane, left leaning people out there. It’s a boring position to have but one worth fighting for

Eh, this argument would make sense if the Cheney's had actual popularity. They don't, liz got crushed the last time she showed up.

If it was a popular govenor from the republican party, then your argument might make sense.
