They claim the mother superior broke her vows of chastity. But why all the nuns are being punished? And the priest who also violated his vow, goes scot free. Even his name is not mentioned.

Who is the Priest who broke his vows, and why is he still a Priest ????

Even if Pius is not a common English name, the reporter should know enough to realize that capital X is a Roman numeral. So, Pius the tenth.

Why do priests always undervalue nuns? As a Catholic school grad I can only say nuns gave us the best of education and example. My gratitude, Sisters!

The nuns have been there for years with no problem, but this bishop suddenly comes along and destroys the nuns. They gave their best years of their lives to the church, now they're too old to get married and have families of their own. The bishop should be ashamed of himself.

Doesn’t look like this bishop does any fasting and prayer.

This report isn't clear, not a complete story?

“Saint Peeus Ex?” Really? Great pronunciation on the reporters part. If you do not know how to pronounce something, do not be sound foolish and guess! Another example of our media’s journalistic decline.

It is Saint Pius (PIE-US) the tenth.
And don't ever, ever go after nuns.
I would have thought that the priests and hierarchy would have learned that by now.
One of the experiences that kept me a faithful Catholic during the darkness in Catholicism of the past twenty-five years was my growing up in a school taught by nuns.

Let me get this straight - they broke their vow of chastity, and then joined SSPX? The math isn't mathing.

Interesting that they didn’t dismiss the man who was involved in this situation. Not to mention all the other people employed in the Catholic Church who were involved in far worse criminal acts than never faced prison time for their actions.

Bless you Sisters. You and your Order are more than welcome to be received into the Anglican Church.

I hate that this woman is humiliated publicly for an extremely personal reason the circumstances and validity of which can't be substantiated.

That overweight bishop can't stand the fact that women were standing up to him. A complete abuse of power.

I bet there are people who want to get hold of their property.

Stand your ground ladies. The same old male dominance and rightness at play.

The ignorance of people here.

-The nuns were u see the authority of the bishop. This is part of their religious life and vow.

-the head nun admitted to having broken her vow of Chasity with a priest of another diocese, who has been forced to retire.

- the bishop and other witness that heard her admitting have recordings of their meetings and in no way was the bishop rude, harsh or angry. In fact he showed great remorse.

- the bishop removed her from her position and the head nun agreed. It wasn’t u til afterwards that the nuns refused the bishops judgment.

- the nuns assumed that the bishop wanted their property (which he had no interest and still to this day has no interest in it) and appealed to Rome. Rome replied back saying that the bishop is in the right and they are to submit to his authority.

- the nuns then rejected the Vatican's order and took the bishop to court. The court literally said that this case is not part of their jurisdiction and is a Church matter and dismissed the case.

- the nuns then went into schism (meaning they divorced themselves from the church) and decided to join a group of schismatic “Catholics” called the sspx.

- the Vatican along with the bishop then said that the nuns are dismissed from their religious life and no longer are nuns and now only laity.

So these nuns are 1. No longer Catholic 2. No longer nuns and 3. They did this to themselves. And 4. The bishop doesn’t care about their property
