Today’s video goes over the brand new 8.6 blackout. Being so new we’re interested in seeing how it generally performs and does in today’s testing.

The lore from garand thumb is better than most films produced in the past 3 years

Garand:"8.6 through 3 blocks, please stop."
The 8.6 round :"How bout nooo" 😂

Everytime Mike asks Micha to describe an item and Micah just says what he thinks about it. You can see Mike die a little everytime.

08:10 That bullet literally came out of the gel and had just enough gel contact to be pulled back in....

After seeing the RIDICULOUS penetration from that crazy fast twist, I really want to see this put through a battery of tests for barrier penetration. I'm talking sheet metal, windshields, solid wood door, plywood, exterior walls, even concrete block. Hell, toss in level 3a and level 3 body armor to the mix too. That would really drive home and give a great understanding of the real world penetration capabilities of this fascinating newer round.

I would listen to you talk about (in anger) for 5 hours about the VA. Please hold them accountable, you have the platform

The VA has screwed so many over. Thanks for shining more light on the situation.

Can we take a moment to appreciate how amazing the sound design was for the "Clever girl." scene from jurassic park, and how satisfying the sounds from loading the shots into the SPAS-12, to unfurling the stock was? That scene sticks out to me from every movie i've ever watched when it comes to satisfying and well thought out sound design. And kudos to you for refreshing that scene in my head.

Cool! The 8.6 is pretty slick. I'm glad to see more people doing videos on it.

Almost didn't even look like the round would stop in the ballistic gel no matter how many blocks you set up. Looked like it was a rocket propelled drill, and zoomed out the other side like it was having a lovely, lovely day. One of the coolest ballistic gel tests I've seen for a round.

That is ridiculous. I’ve never seen a round have this much penetrative power in ballistics gel . It cuts through like genuine butter. Amazing.

I really want one of these! The 300 BKO had the same overpenetration issues when it came out, as most bullets are designed to penetrate and expand properly at fast supersonic velocities. A few years ago we were shooting 6.5 Creedmoor at muzzle velocities of around 3000 fps. At 100-200 yards they were penetrating and expanding to about 16-18 inches in ballistic gelatin. At 1000+ yards, they were not expanding and penetrating more than 36 inches.
With the 300 BKO, it performed much better at closer ranges once bullets were developed that were designed to penetrate and expand at subsonic velocities. So this round will be better once those bullets become available to perform at subsonic.

The sound from that suppressed 8.6 round actually sounds like the made up suppressed sound they use in movies and games. Just a POP... impressive.

Never heard of Ree but I want to just say I appreciate what they're doing. My grandpa was drafted into the Navy in Vietnam and has fought with the VA tirelessly for benefits. Appreciate you guys.

I appreciate Micah's attempt at Charlie humor but no one can match his delivery 😂 Love it guys!

I've never seen a round FLY through THREE ballistic gel blocks the way this did. That's beyond anything we see on a regular basis, and I can't wait to watch how popular this round becomes

How smooth that round goes through the gel honestly looks like cheap CGI which kinda freaks me out. That's absolutely incredible and I love it.

my last job was upgrading the VAs network switches, and it really opened my eyes to how horrible the system is for Veterans. I, as a 21 year old loser was making more off the VA as a contractor than employees that had been there for decades. All that in addition to the "facilities" that were at least 20 years behind on average. absolutely despicable how little they actually care.
