Are All Corvette C3 T-TOPS the Same?

If you need or want to upgrade your early C3 Corvette T-Tops from plain fiberglass to late-style mirrored or smoked glass panels, you can do it. However, older-style T-Tops will not latch properly on late-model C3s.

In other words, early-style (1968-1977) T-Tops with double latches will not work on 1978-1982 Corvettes.

In this video, I show you the differences, how the weatherstripping is installed, how to remove it, plus many other tips you need to know in order to keep your T-Tops operating trouble- and leak-free.

Great comparison of the differences, I'm partial to the early double latches, I was surprised when I bought my 79 and it only has one latch, it works ok but different for me since my other Corvette's in the past had 2.👍

My 72 has two latches. Don't forget to do maintenance on your tops, keep the rubber lubricated.

Those round plastic Velcro type connectors, do you use adhesive on those to attach the headliners? There’s no way mine would hold the headliner to the t-top without some adhesive.

Would it be possible to put the later style t top latches on the early solid t tops? I like the paint matched tops but prefer the body changes made for the 1980 model.
