Hundreds of Ukrainians in Warsaw celebrated Ukraine's Independence Day. Many fled to Poland after Russia's 2022 invasion, with nearly a million Ukrainians now living and working there. Poland's support has boosted its economy, with 44,500 Ukrainian businesses started, nearly half by women. Refugees are grateful for safety but long to return home.

You speak about Ukraine as about united strong democratic nation which fights the Russian aggression. This is a lie I will tell you as a Russian American for 33 years. Ukraine is deeply divided. Actually till 2014 Ukrainians and Russians were friends. Pro-Russian President was elected since all South and East are speaking Russian and most of them are Russians. In 2014 there was a state-coup in Ukraine and nationalist came to power by force. They are people from the Western Ukraine which became part of the USSR only in 1945 after 600 years of Polish rule. Nationalists (Banderas) attacked all Russian: Language, Culture and even Church. So, it is not a surprise that first Crimea and then other regions of Ukraine went home to Russia. What nation of Ukraine? You need to build (not to force) the nation first, like we Americans did.
