Hi on two gang two way it seems there are not enough terminals for two switch lines, also how would an intermediate be wired, I have single live series

You have two permanent lives 1 up stairs and 1 down stairs if it put both reds into L it trips i can only assume that it's because it is sharing a separate neutral from two different rcbo's and it will trip every time after about 3-5 secs!!! any help is appreciated

Hi YOU do not have ANY neutral's in switches in UK lighting circuit all neutrals are all on ceiling rose and the fact that there is only one live (L) means that when you connect the live from down stairs rcbo and then connect the upstairs live it trips every time because there is only one L terminal and a two way terminal the neutrals are split between two rcbo's and it will always trip because you are using the live from both rcbo's and the neutrals are all connected in the ceiling rose so it will trip every time because you are using two diff lives from upstairs and down stairs circuit breaker and the rcbo's do not accept diff live via common ground or split neutrals via common live as it is split across the two 6A rcbo breakers thus instantly tripping
