100 Years of Excellence: College of Nursing

Prairie View A&M University College of Nursing continues to stand out as a fervent exemplar in educating professional nurses for now and the future. This year, the college celebrates 100 years of making a difference in defining and actualizing a positive experience for many fine women and men who choose nursing as their career. We wanted to highlight this achievement with a mini-doc.

Owww I’m the first to comment. Let me make this a good one. My name is Bianca Darrington and I am a 2 time PVAMU College of Nursing graduate. I received my BSN in December of 2012 and I will receive my MSN (FNP) on May 11, 2019. I am truly honored to be a PV Graduate. Choosing nursing has been one of the greatest decisions I have made.

I am so proud to be a soon to be 3 time PV CON graduate and faculty member. I have had the honor to watch the CON transition and flourish into the exceptional program that it is today. To start off in that little brown building with 9 floors 20 years ago, I understand what great strides the program has made over the years. I look forward to the program continuing to grow, and am proud to be a part of the “molding” process. PV really does produce productive nurses.

I’m currently taking my Prerequisite classes, graduate with an AS of biology next December . Looking for nursing programs and this is in my top 3.. especially knowing the history, never thought I’d wanted to attend an HBCU until now
