Your heart skips a beat as you hear those words. Finally, the time has come. Your extensive knowledge of Aquaman lore will finally serve you well. Oh, how you've longed to hear those sweet, sweet words all your life. You immediately scroll down to the comments section and eagerly begin typing an in-depth explanation of Aquaman's oft-forgotten prosthesis. But hark, another step! You pause mid-sentence and scroll back up to the video. You eagerly await the next step of the plan that might give your life a purpose in this discordant, chaotic existence. "Step two, " you hear JonTron say. You are filled with anticipation. You feel faint.

"Fuck you, " Jon says.

You are silent. You can barely process the two words that Jon has uttered. You slump down in your chair, defeated. It was all for naught. As you somberly delete the beginning of your Aquaman thesis you had typed into the comment box, a single tear rolls down your cheek. It was too good to be true. Perhaps your nigh-endless comprehension of the Aquaman mythos was simply never meant to be shared. Perhaps only you have the capacity to retain such information.

With resolution, you click away from "Aquaman: Battle For Atlantis - JonTron." You have been hurt in a way you never thought you could be. Perhaps you will find another purpose in life, perhaps not. Either way, you have forsaken Aquaman. He is now no more important to you than he was to the rest of the DC fanbase. More tears drip from your face, salty as the very water your former hero resided in. You close your eyes and take a deep breath. "‘Tis better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all, " you say, your heart heavy, yet also strangely light. You are free now. You have let go.

That is one chill burd, surely he occasionally flew off between takes, but to hold on tenaciously while you're spazzing around like that...

The ironic part is that outside of this old cartoon, Aquaman is rather badass:

- He can survive in pressures that would crumble submarines like a candy wrapper.
- Being able to survive this pressure also makes him very strong. Not quite enough to punch out Supes, but at least he can throw the Titanic at him.
- He effectively owns the oceans, aka the majority of Earth
- All undersea creatures are his to command, including whales, hordes of sharks, giant squids and any cthulhuesque nightmare the writer can come up with
- And then there his army of loyal Atlantean soldiers, who have far more advanced weaponry than the people on land.

Sadly, Aquaman never had someone like Tim Burton change his mainstream image.

(Seriously, if Batman was just a bit less popular back in the day, most of us would only know him as Adam West)

I actually kind of miss hook hand Aquaman (who, by the way, yeah, that's a real thing from the comics) because as cool as Aquaman is now, edgy 90s Aquaman was just an overcompensaed badass in a charming way.
