DIY Project: Building a Kylo Ren lightsaber Part 1: Exploring Addressable LED strips

In this video I'm looking at addressable led strips to see if they can be usable in a Kylo Ren lightsaber blade. Kylo's saber looks good in the movie because of the unstable blade effect. Most common sabers look too plain in photos and videos. If we light up the leds in a random way we might be able to get more of the unstable effect.
