Nicole and I are big gamers and we both have fond memories of early PC and console games. While our two kids and business prevent us from diving into games like we used to, we'll always be gamers at heart. So when my buddy Brian Ibbot from Coverville asked me to help him with an arcade cabinet, I jumped on the opportunity.

Thanks for this video. I'm building my own arcade cabinet and, after watching a number of these arcade cabinet builds, you are really the only one to focus on the woodworking part of it (which is probably bc most people make these out of MDF, paint them black, and use T Mould on any edges, so the joins aren't really ever noticed/appreciated). Anyway, there are several steps that people rush through (particularly the monitor bezel/mounting part) that I'm really glad you covered at a nice pace.

Very nice project. I love the fact that you did this with great looking wood to start with instead of the classic MDF and painting route we all seem to take. Love the way it looks. Great job!

This is the perfect woodwork with explanation on arcade cabinet videos. Thanks.

This is so inspirational. I just started getting into woodworking and wish I begun this journey when I was young.

I really think this is one of the better arcade machine builds on YouTube. Mainly because you used the wood finish which is eighth up my ally. It’s fine with a custom pit job and stickers everywhere but this truly looks like it would sit in any home and not look out of place. Great job 👍🏻

Beautiful job and so good to watch. I made my arcade game out of MDF custom board, no where as nice as your finish. I thought of changing it one day to clear perspex so you can see the working insides, but might be difficult to do joins.

The walnut is a beautiful cut of wood and very durable. Awesome job

This is, by far, the nicest cabinet I have seen. The methods are as close to DYI as I have seen. The quality of materials is terrific.

I want such a cabinet but I want it to double as a PC workstation. This would be for my son who I would want to be able to use this not just for certain gaming but also for his regular computer for homework and the like. To that end, a keyboard/mouse drawer might be the most awesome modification to add. That lowest front-facing panel might have a hinge somehow or perhaps it could be halved where the lower part has the hinge-door where the keyboard and mouse tray would emerge... or maybe no door at all... just a tray with rails.

Love the smooth piano Mario medley in the background.

For me...

Is the best layout, as it matches with my best Super Nintendo's Street Fighter layout

Punch = Light - Medium - Strong
Kick = Light - Medium - Strong

Wow, there was way more involved in building this than I had expected.  Nice job.

I have seen a lot of bartop builds, this is clearly at the top. It's obviously much better to let a seasoned woodworker do the building. Thanks for the great video.

At first I wasn't sure about the walnut look, but by the end of the video it really grew on me. Looks great. Making something like this is at the top of my bucket list.

Awesome work Marc. The subtle jazz versions of the gaming classics was a super nice touch. That cabinet turned out really nice! Between you and Bob from I Like To Make Stuff, you're really making me want to build one of these!

I made two similar builds back in 2011. I only recorded the finished results. But 'back then' most people were using old PC's inside. Nice job on yours.

Love it! Especially love how you go through the mitre edging for a cleaner finish. This video will help a lot!

That thing is gorgeous. I made a bar-top arcade a while back, and now I want to build a full-sized version, or build a base to make the bar-top look like a full-size while it is sitting on it. Also, I put one of those power/switched power ports on mine and it seems to be holding up well so far. The one I got is fused.

I've just had a terrible day. I've been waiting for this to come out. Made the day better! Super excited to have such detailed plans as I've had this on my list for quite some time!
