I would kill to see the original broadway cast perform newsies on broadway. if this alone was as incredible as it was, i cant imagine what seeing it on a broadway stage would be like. i love newsies more than anything, i'm so lucky to be able to do it at my school.

This number alone makes Newsies the hardest musical to put on. This number:
-Requires a lot of actors
-Actors are all men of a specific age group
-All actors need to be able to sing
-All actors need to be able to dance
-Dance number includes ballet
-Dance number includes mild stunts
-Due to costuming, you can’t pad out the numbers with girls, it’s too noticeable

I wouldn’t be surprised if they auditioned the entire state of New York and then some to be able to fill out this cast.

The fact that this performance was right after the show won for best choreography makes it’s wholesome level over 5000

the guy yelling "that was fantastic!" at the end is a constant mood and for some reason i cannot remember his name for the life of me

you guys don’t get that they have a lot of shoes in the tonys so the music is usually sped up for the awards so they can fit everyone in

I’ve seen a lot of shows on Broadway. This scene, by far, is my favorite. Seeing this live...the talent, the dancing...and the crowd went wild. So good! I could see this show over and over again, just for this scene.... not to say the entire show wasn’t top notch because it was.
