Behind the scenes of “Lumen in the Land of Nanite” | Unreal Engine 5

In May 2020, Epic Games provided a first look at Unreal Engine 5 through “Lumen in the Land of Nanite,” a real-time demo running live on PlayStation 5.

Prior to this, in January 2020, we went behind the scenes with the team at Epic to discover the inspiration for features like Nanite, Lumen, and Niagara, which will provide an unprecedented level of freedom for artists.

Can't wait to get my hands on UE5, looks insane. Having said that, behind the scenes is supposed to give you some kind of insight, they just said the same things with different words, the only new information here is that the editor looks the same, unless they're running it in UE4 to avoid revealing the new interface.

Thanks for your work, you're bascially making infinite polygons pretty much possible thanks to your Nanite poly real-time management tech ("virtualized microgeometry", still don't know how it works algorithmically), in my point of view it's a revolution right in front of our eyes, can't wait to see all the power of this tech in-game, and already incredible videos from all around the World

Seeing comments, no one seems to really understand what you are doing for game industry... With all those crazy things like in-app purchases, live pass and others gaming became only focused on money... By releasing fantastic tools FOR FREE to everyday people you give to this world a bright new future !
