Hello and welcome!
In this Russian TPRS Lesson we're going to do a few exercises with verbs of motion. Designed for beginners and intermediate learners.
A list of motion verbs we will study:
Unidirectional verbs:
Or determinate imperfective normally refers to continuous motion in one direction toward a stated (or implied) goal.
идти́ - to go on foot (он \ она \ оно) - идёт
е́хать - to go by vehicle (он \ она \ оно) - е́дет
бежа́ть - to run (он \ она \ оно) - бежи́т
лете́ть - to fly (он \ она \ оно) - лети́т
плы́ть - to swim(sail) (он \ она \ оно) - плывёт
Multidirectional verbs:
Or indeterminate imperfective has several uses. Specifically, it may be used to denote
- motion that is random, or in more than one direction,
- motion that is habitual (when are turn trip is implied),
- motion spoken of in general terms, and
- round-trip motion in the past (went and returned).
