Presented by artists Julie Upmeyer and Mari Rose Pritchard, this masterclass will demonstrate the ways in which geology and art can combine in your everyday surroundings, providing an example of the creativity that is possible within geoscience.

This masterclass highlights that geo-art does not have to be something that requires a lot of money or resources to explore - but can be done at any scale: from the pebbles in your local park to the bricks and stones that support your house.

The idea of working with ‘the environment’ can be overwhelming in scale and possibility. We hope this masterclass will increase your confidence to explore materials and create your own narrative – using Julie and Mari Rose’s artistic project based around Limestone: Void Fraction.
