The Hague is the third-largest city in the Netherlands, with a population of 220,000 inhabitants. It is situated close to the North Sea coast, at the mouth of the Nieuwe Maas (New Meuse) river.

The Hague is the residence of King Willem-Alexander, Queen Máxima, and their daughters Princess Amalia , Alexia, and Ariane. It is also home to many international institutions, including the International Criminal Court (ICC) at the Peace Palace.

The city was one of the world's first planned cities, but it has no central area formed of semi-circular canals. The Hague has many parks and wide avenues with modern buildings.

One of the most famous boulevards in The Hague is the long street named Lange Voorhout. It runs between Prinsengracht and Van Baerlestraat along "the first", "the second" and "the third" district of The Hague.

I always imagined The Hague to be a huge, grim-looking building protected with barbed wire, gun nests, and guard dogs where evil dictators were tried in court and then hanged..

But I never imagined it was actually a city. And it looks beautiful and a lot of fun.
