Most players want out of places because they don’t like things within the organization. Maybe they don’t like the coach, GM, owner, teammates, etc. Dubois didn’t like playing for Torts, didn’t like the locker room in Winnipeg, and is now going to LA. He might enjoy living in LA, but if he gets demoted to PP 2, or doesn’t get to play with the linemates he wants, or something else happens, why do we think we’re not going to see the same PLD that we’ve seen in Columbus and Winnipeg?

I love this deal for Winnipeg, getting two good forwards that can play power play minutes in Iafallo and Vilardi

As a jets fan I really like this return. I was expecting so much less due to it sounding like Montreal or nothing for a long time

great analysis, the jets leveraged the situation super well, who knows, in a few years time Vilardi may develop into that 60-80 point top 6 player and on top of Iafallo, Kupari and the second rounder I think its an incredible return overall

Surprised by the comments, to me WPG won that trade by a lot, Vilardi and Iafallo is an outstanding return, and in 8 years, 8, 5 millions for Dubois might be one the worse contract in the league. Hopefully not, but I’m afraid of an Huberdeau 2.0

Jets fan from Manitoba - Was previously pessimistic about how the PLD trade would turn out, but this is good value! Now we just hope that the Scheif and Helle trades can also deliver the same value.

It's certainly a great haul for the Jets... But when you really think about it from the Kings perspective, Vilardi is really the only piece it stings to give up and you can live with that to add a big skilled center that can be an amazing 2C at least for the next 5+ years - Possibly even a 1C at times if he really does take his game to the next level in LA. Iafallo is solid but the Kings have a lot of solid wingers, and this trade now allows a player like Arthur Kaliyev to move up the lineup and take on a bigger role. Kupari is a wildcard but hasn't shown a ton. Also, as we know, the cap is going to go up and Dubois is still just 25. An $8.5 million 2nd line center won't seem that crazy 3-4 years from now. And like I said, if he takes his game to the next level in LA and ends up being a perfect fit, he could actually be a 1C. So we'll see.

as an habs fan good to not see him in mtl, with all the trade talks I felt like Hugues would crack and offer the moon + this is way too much years on this contract should have been 3 year max and see how things go

Having the Habs in the mix for Dubois definitely allowed the Jets to get the haul that they did
