Mage Wars - Walkthrough: Part One

I've played quite a lot of board/card/dice games so I'm very familiar with having a massive set of rules to learn and go through.  However, this game's rules were relatively short and the gameplay makes sense.  I also appreciate the level of instructional detail in these videos, with the overlays and step-by-step gameplay.  Much better than most other tutorial videos I've watched.  I also kinda want a mage wars shirt now...

Bought the game and booted the video to watch how to play.  Dear god, the stock background music is grating. I had to turn the volume as long as possible because it was driving me crazy.  Otherwise thanks for the walkthrough!

Mage Wars looks incredible: I've read the rulebook and was blown away by how deep, yet straightforward it looks. And the attention to theme....awesome! Can't wait o get my hand on this.

Agreed! Easy to learn rules, and I like that when I take an action its the opponents turn to take action love the back and forth!!

This game is so convoluted and so many rules and abilities. I had no idea what I was doing.

This is one of the top games that has come out in the last ten years. It really is. It gives me the EXACT feel that I got the first time I play Magic The Gathering or Twilight Imperium.

I have one small gripe. I wish they would put more money into the spell books. They just feel... flimsey. its such a small gripe. But leather bound.. or even faux leather with some kind of parchment style pages would just own.

in the german manual i can cast spells in the last step of the preparation step
is that right? cause in this example they havent done it; they startet casting speels in the action phase

Lol... yeah... I was trying to learn and play and we've taken about 2 hours learning. My mate had to leave real quick and I was like... forget this I'm gonna see if they got videos to learn cause I hate reading Bible size instruction books. Lucky for me, they have vids! Wish I found em earlier though.

Why did the guy repsonsible for the animations ALWAYS mess up the marker colours on the life track? Its wrong in all of the videos

This would have been awsome with actual miniatures and a player board where all stats and action tokens could be tracked.

I still don't get it. I've seen all these walkthroughs and it seems like even Warhammer 40k is easier to learn.

I'm sure this is a great game but the video just wants to send me to sleep. Too much talking with nothing actually happening on the screen. For an overview tutorial I don't think we need such fine specifics on rules.
