Awww! I'm so glad the Nuk Fairy came and helped y'all out!! Haha that was like exactly how we got Tripp to stop using his at 17 months! It worked wonders!! You look SO good BTW! Gorgeous Momma ;o)

That's kind of the cutest story I've heard all day, "Henry, the Nuky Fairy came!" I love it!

I LOVE that you guys called is Nuky.. that's what I called it when i was little!... i remember having the discussion with my dad about how i was a big girl and i didn't need it anymore.. i was 2 and a half i think congrats!!!!

You are too funny, and what a good idea! Honestly, I think it's actually smart to wait until they are older to take a comfort away, that way they are able to comprehend a lot easier. Good job, Amy! =]

ha ha That is so funny! One of our daycare parents had her son put all of his pacifiers on a plate and the pacifier fairy was going to come take them to take them to the other little babies that needed them. Sounds just like what you did almost and he did awesome with it as well! :o)

I got the giggles at your on-the-fly explanation "wow, that means the NUKY fairy came", I can see you are going to be awesome explaining the tooth fairy to him in a few years time :-) I am glad you know you didn't deserve all that abuse about Henry's pacifier, all of us moms just do the best we can, and people can keep their opinions to themselves, thank you very much :-D

I was always so scared to get rid of them also thinking it was going to be a BIG thing so at two I would finally take them away and it really ended up not being a big thing :) I think you were right in waiting it is hard when a lot of change is going on but it is so nice when there gone!!! Congrats to Henry on being a big boy!

Aren't you a quick thinker! Hahaha! That is great!
Jacob was still sucking his thumb when he was in kindergarden. Once when he was at the dentist he overheard the doc tell his mother that his teeth would get messed up from sucking his thumb. He immediately told his mom to take his special blanket away because he only sucked his thumb when he had that. Well...a few nights of Jacob not sleeping had his mother begging him to take the blanket back. He wouldn't! He kept saying "don't let me see it!"

Oh my gosh I am so envious!! My daughter will be three on the 23rd and I plan to take it away then but I just might try cutting it tonight ;) and we too do not need the paci for our baby which is such a relief because then we are not searching for it in the middle of the night or looking at that nasty thing all the time (they gross me out and I HATE our addiction over here too haha) Way to go Henry!!

Yay for Henry!!!! We told Alicia that we were giving them away to other babies who need them lol! Alicia loves babies, so that worked haha! Alicia had a hard time at night though, she loved the "paci". That's what we called them haha!

That is so awesome! My niece is super dependent on it and its sweet but I hate how I have to keep track of them constantly. This is a great idea, when I have babies I'm totally doing this! Lets hope it goes as smoothly as it did for you <3

congrats! That's a big step! Camryn never took one, she'd always spit it out. There were MANY times I wished she would just take one, especially when she would cry and cry. But in the end I was thankful I didn't have to bother with one, or have to take it away in the long run. We shall see with baby number 2. If he wants one, he can have it!

Yay for Henry! Ella's one yr anniversary of being nuk free was last month but she def still remembers them lol but she did pick out some for baby in Target the other day she thinks baby is a boy so of course they were blue :)

Carter is the same way as Henry was with the nuky. lol. I can't wait to get rid of it already!

Great, my 10 month old uses a "dummy" or "dodie", I partly encouraged the use as the use of a pacifier has been found to help reduce sudden infant death & help with digestion - must be the production of saliva. I have no problems with them at all. Also as you said some babies have the need to suck for comfort :)

lol, great story!! with Avah, we bought 2 more packs of soothies cause she was always losing them and had to have them 24/7, and aaron and i decided that those 2 packs were the last 2 we were going to buy... she lost all of them that same day, and was totally fine without them lol, funny how us parents over think stuff and the kids are like whatever lol
JovannaKelly
AWESOME! We are nearing that phase with Caed.. I don't think they are a big deal (lol we call it a dummy) I think you need to pick your battles, Caed only has it when he goes down for a sleep. He is starting to tell me "dummies are for babies" .. so I think we are just about done with them! Thanks for sharing xx
Nopetynopenopenope
With that said maybe our next wont need them I think I will stick to the one pack and see what happens! Praying for a good baby like evan is :)
Aliwisha
I hope this works for Olivia! She is so attached to that thing!
