You know it's telling that the show is a hot garbage fire when HBO itself quickly shut off and disabled the comments on both twitter and youtube. They knew this would receive backlash. So this tells me that this is more than likely not gonna receive a second season. I'm honestly amazed Velma even got a 53% on Rotten Tomatoes. That's clearly higher than what it should be.

My parents were 7 years old when the original Scooby Doo show first aired. My mom, in particular, grew up with it. When they had me, I grew up with it, too. I can't imagine how she would react to seeing this stain of a spin-off.

Well that's exactly what I thought would fix my mind from seeing this show. Being blind and deaf would be an actual defense toward abominations such as this show. I think going forward, these woke people should go back to sleep and never create another animated monstrosity ever again.

I'm a Black male, baby boomer who grew up watching Scooby-Doo. I enjoyed it as a child and have fond memories of Scooby. I probably spent hundreds of hours sitting in front of the old "cathode ray tube" TV's watching it on weekends. I'm tired of all this race swapping.

There are 1000s of cultures all over the world, and I would think that those cultures would have a right to celebrate themselves. Race swapping is "racism" by another name. Every culture has the desire to represent themselves without others destroying or altering their works. To me, it is demeaning for one group to race swap another because it makes the "swappers" seem inferior. It says that they don't have the creativity, intelligence, or planning to create their own, they are piggy-backing off of someone else's success.

Why race swap which is the easy and cheap route, a lack of creativity? Create an original ideal and implement it. Respect others and build your own.

It is offensive for these Woke people to push their supremacist agenda on the masses. Give us entertainment not "social engineering". If you go Woke, you go Broke. Where the hell is Shaggy and Scooby at?

i have a conspiracy theory that they put this garbage out to make the whole of adult animation look bad. like they cancelled so many good shows and i was happy to see they were still putting out another adult cartoon (even tho lbr Infinity Train and Final Space didn't deserve to be cancelled at all) but it just feels like they did this to be like "hey got another good show to replace everything we took from you" and it's just a slap in the face, the second slap will be when they come out with a statement that says "see? you really don't like adult animation after all"

Correction for everyone. When she makes the "Joke" about it being only a white people thing, she wasn't saying that those things where exclusive to white people, it was actually way worse and she was saying only white people sell drugs over such mundane issues, where minorities would only turn to selling drugs in the worst of circumstances. It makes total sense what she's trying to say it's just incredibly racist.

Wanna know what would have been better? If Velma was the only character shown in the series. If it is about her forming the Scooby gang and "ALL" about her, then the show achieved it very well. What I would have went with is Velma's post high school life on really finding her true self during college after having to leave the Scooby gang to go to Harvard. It would be absolutely hard to make to a good story but I think it would have been handled well with good writing. That would make the "ALL" about her much more reasonable and would explore Velma as a person beyond her intelligent math whiz character we usually think of her as.
Think of Wednesday. By all means not the best show, some of their lines are very meta and cringe worthy but I highly respect the show for pulling off a character's inner circles of identity searching through Wednesday as a misunderstood and arrogant, but tactical and intelligent human being with skills on basically everything. What I want for season 2 is for Wednesday have genuine growth and for her to get out of the love triangle and think of the others in her life like Enid and Bianca. It would humble her to an extent and make Wednesday more likeable as well, even if I myself liked Wednesday herself, even with her impulsive assumptions (which she needs to get over because every single one of her assumptions was wrong in the first place). That is what I could have done for Velma, make her an independent soul who grows. Not this crass idiotic portrayal.
