One night I put on A Moon Shaped Pool on loop so I could have soft music on while I fell asleep. And this particular song happened to make its way into my dream. In the dream, I remember being in this quiet city very late at night with my sister and my dad, and we were all in this backyard patio that was near this dark alley-way. Everyone near us in the city was asleep except for us. And I just remember looking up at the bright moon as that piano melody played. It felt so calm and almost incredibly realistic, as my body is still adjusting to new sleep medications so that might be making my dreams feel more realistic and vivid. But now everytime I listen to this song, I can only think of being in that place and how soothing it feels.

I start to cry every time at the exactly same spot of the song: on 5:10, when in the last repetition of the faster, instrumental part the bass changes its static melody and finally plays a new note.
When the bones dance. When the mountains play. When all that exists becomes alive.

After going through a breakup with someone I deeply loved, I finally know what he’s saying at the end…
“I really miss you..”

[Verse 1]
Dreamers
They never learn
They never learn
Beyond the point
Of no return
Of no return
Then it's too late
The damage is done
The damage is done

[Verse 2]
This goes
Beyond me
Beyond you
A white room
By a window
Where the sun comes
Through
We are
Just happy to serve
Just happy to serve
You

When this song came out, I was in the back of a cab on my way home after a night in the city of London. That week I'd just gone through a terrible breakup with someone I loved and was going to marry, but it just wasn't going to work. The feeling was surreal and extraordinary. I'll never be able to forget the music drowning out the noise of the city, seeing the bright lights streak by, the people passing by as they as they lived, and the isolation I felt. Most of all I'll never forget how it was an especially serene but agonising moment. I felt one with the universe. I felt a profound sense of affirmation and compassion, I also felt alone and hopeless. These miss matched feelings bubbled up inside and I couldn't handle it. Radiohead was his favourite band. I never liked them that much, and the only time I experienced some sort of connection with their music would be almost immediately after we were apart; I'd never get to share that experience with him. " But would I feel this way If we were still together and happy" I thought to myself, no. I don't cry in public but when the song was over I balled my eyes out in the back of that cab. This song will always be a part of my collection, no matter how pained I was at the time. This masterpiece was a cold embrace and a feeling I refuse to forget.
I feel sorry for the cabbie, she was great. She talked to me and kept my thoughts occupied after that.

I like to listen to this song when I feel emotionally bad or when I feel that my existence is not fulfilling.

I’ve binged-looped that song a year ago and just stopped, because it absorbed me too much. That level of heartfullness, of crisp and nightly and simple wisdom woven between lyrics and music is something rare. It always stays with you, helps you to stay true, through anything.

This song makes me feel like traveling through the whole universe in a car, passing planets and suns and at the end I get swallowed by a black hole

first time listening to this album was tonight riding a plane back home. after driving around the runway for a while, the plane finally started speeding up. don't know exactly when, but somewhere in the mid 5 minute mark. speeding up just as this song was building up. the moment 5:41 hit, the plane starting lifting off. it was like magic

I don't know how it is possible, when I was 17 I thought Thom Yorke somehow had a vision into my soul with lyrics that struck so deeply, and as we both age he keeps doing it.

this song, to me, is a continuous mantra of everyday life, , whenever I listen to it nothing seems to exist, not even this song itself
