Thanks to this informative video, you can get an apples-to-apples comparison of nurses' salaries in California and New York. You'll see which cities offer the highest wages and which have a lower cost of living. This way, you can make an informed decision about where to live and work as a nurse.

Whether you're already a nurse in one of these states or are considering making the move, this video is a must-watch. So sit back, relax, and learn everything you need to know about nurses' salaries in California and New York.

I'll also discuss some of the benefits you have as an employee working for either of these states.

To put this video together, I had to gather data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, look up the median home prices in every one of the states' high-paying cities, find what the mortgage payments in each city would look like, and calculate the cost-of-living-adjusted net salary after taxes and the mortgage is paid in each one of these cities.

After watching this video, you should have a better idea of which city you will want to move to.

Thanks for watching ya'll. I'm going to make this a series as well but I'm going to add more and more topics of comparison as I go along. For example, the next State vs State video will include differences in crime rates. Stay tuned!

Work in NY, live in NJ, work overtime on days and times that pay the most. In CA, work to gain the most double time available. Unfortunately, homes are just way to expensive for what you get in NYC. If a nurse in NYC only makes $98k, they’re not making enough for a $4100 home mortgage plus expenses. Great video!!!!

Some info on Oregon would be awesome. Would love to hear more about Kaiser benefits in Portland area or maybe some more direction on where I can get more info (: thanks! Stoked on your videos.

It's no coincidence that 19 of the top 21 earning cities are in Nor CA each where Kaiser Hospital nurses are the highest paid nurses in the WORLD. Their CNA union is stronger than the UAW at their peak.

If you are renting these number are way off in NYC. Apartments can go from 1000 and up starting from the Bronx to upstate.

This is interesting. The thing is have you ever been to these low cost of living cities in the Central Valley? There’s a reason why the home prices are so low. I’d still rather live in one of the more expensive cities and just have a smaller place like a condo than have a big house in the middle of the Central Valley.

I’ve noticed that sutter in Roseville has a lot of 8 hour shifts considered “part time” . ICU does the 12 hour shifts . Does kaiser do the same thing? I feel like the 8 hour is made so nurses don’t make OT .

In New York employees have little to no rights. In the US certain rights are not law for employees. It's only a policy of the corporation and even the union can't fight it.

I bet there's no nurse who is working in the same hospital for more than 10 years . Reasons ?
