Only been to Japan once 30 years ago, was only there two nights in Tokyo and we didn't try any local cuisine.
Now going back on a ski trip for 8 nights, I still have no idea about Japanese food, hopefully I can navigate myself around and be able to give something a try this time.

I didn’t visit the art aquarium (maybe next time) but I did get coffee at a few of the showa style / kissaten coffee places that are still popular in Ginza. They’re quite cute.

I usually assume ramen broth is pork based unless it specifically says something else. When traveling with Muslims you have to be careful that just because the ramen doesn't have pork meat in it, it doesn't mean it's not pork based.
