Άγιοι 318 Θεοφόροι Πατέρες Νικιάνας Λευκάδος Saints 318 God bearers Fathers Nikiana Lefkada

Βρίσκεται 5 χλμ. πάνω από το χωριό της Νικιάνας και δημιουργήθηκε από τρείς μοναχούς, οι οποίοι είχαν λάβει μέρος στην Α’ Οικουμενική Σύνοδο στη Νίκαια της Μικράς Ασίας, το 325 μ.Χ., όπου μετείχε και ο τότε επίσκοπος Λευκάδος, Άγιος Αγάθαρχος. Στο σπήλαιο είναι κατά την παράδοση οι τάφοι των Οσίων Αλεξάνδρου, Παύλου και Στεφάνου. Τους τελευταίους αιώνες το σπήλαιο λειτουργούσε ως μετόχι της Μονής Αγίου Γεωργίου Σκάρων ενώ η τελευταία μοναχή που ζούσε εκεί εκοιμήθη το 1978. Πανηγυρίζει, τέλος,την Κυριακή προ της Πεντηκοστής ήτοι των 318 Αγίων Πατέρων της Α' Οικουμενικής Συνόδου

It is located 5 km above the village of Nikiana and was created by three monks, who had taken part in the First Ecumenical Synod in Nicaea, Asia Minor, in 325 AD, where the then bishop of Lefkada, Saint Agatharchos, also participated. In the cave are according the tradition the tombs of Saints Alexander, Pavlos and Stefanos. In the last centuries, the cave functioned as a part of the Monastery of Saint Georgios of Skara, while the last nun who lived there fell asleep in 1978. Finally, it celebrates on the Sunday before Pentecost, i.e. the 318 Holy Fathers of the First Ecumenical Synod
