IMP 2 Direct Box from Whirlwind || Tuesday Review Day

This workhorse of a DI box is great for keyboard and organ sounds! Forgive the mediocre acoustic tone, I normally mic my acoustics for a blended sound as the pickups in my acoustic are not the best. But even still you can hear with a good eq and compressor setup this would sound great!

Just found out about this little thing, although I've been playing for a very long time. It blows my mind how useful it is to record jam sessions and have a dry signal along with the one from amp. Thanks a lot for your review!

I've had one of these forever and I never questioned it until I just watched a DI shootout which included a $22 Pyle DI which sounded like trash. I don't think the IMP2 has and deficiencies. It's solid and repeats the same clean signal you feed into it.

Also to your point on 2:55, doesn't the inputs being parallel mean it does not matter which you use an an INPUT or OUTPUT?

Don't DI boxes convert an instrument level (like bass) or line level signal (like keyboard) or any HiZ signal to a LowZ MIC level signal?
