Brings me back to 8 -9 years old all over again. I would often hear most of these on my transistor radio, my mom's kitchen radio in morning as I was getting ready for school. Often, my brothers and I would call the radio station and request that they play some of these songs. Of course, back then, most of these were on AM radio, way before AM became talk radio only. What a great, simpler time where people bought 45s and 33s, listened to the crackle of the stereo needle on the record as we waited for the song to start, watched American Bandstand, Soul Train, watched 3 channels on TV, and wore outfits that resembled the time. Anyone who grew up during this time knows what I mean.

This is the music from my teenage years through my early twenties. So many memories good and bad, but the best times in my life and the early 90's. I am just so grateful that I was present during that era and got to experience a way of life (a simple life) that will never be experienced by anyone again. Times will never be like they were which is very unfortunate for young people. Shoot no more cruise, no more keggers, hardly any more dances even, its sad. I guess tik tok, twitter and snapchat is their fun these days. yuk.

I'm glad that I never bought into the whole "disco sucks" movement. Like any other genre of music it had good and bad. It never took itself too seriously like some pretentious rock music. It was just intended to be fun. The great thing about the whole decade was the variety of music to choose from. It was constantly changing, for good or bad. I grew up during the singer-songwriter era so I was exposed to a lot good songs that could be a little sad but I attribute them for preparing me to be an adult. I miss the 70's. 😊😊😊😊

never gained any pounds in these years because there was disco every weekend from 11 at night to 5 in the morning GREAT miss it very much - I am now 67 - thinking about finding a club and talk to the owner every month to arrange a disco night for seniors with wheelchairs, crutches and walking sticks - maybe chair dancing would be great, because even we are old we still have the fire in our bodies and the music rattles the disco fever
