i actually started out doing something similar as you do now when i got into modular (making presets, autosampled instruments, granular stuff). now i'm mostly just recording (mostly but not only midi) patterns played by my modular and arranging them in the daw afterwards. i'm not sure it's more productive, but it allows me to spend more time on the more fun parts of music creation.

Really cool, I also gave up on using my modular "synced" in my projects and just create sounds or effects with it. Less stress and more fun.
