I like the part when they talked about AI

One issue I see with Android Studio AI integration is that Android Studio would need to stop crashing for people to be able to use it

1:20 now we just need someone to develop an adblocker-blocker-blocker for the adblocker-blocker

“So I just say AI a bunch of times in my speech and everyone will go crazy?”

CEO: “Yes. The marketers are actually onto something real this time. I don’t understand it, but the research says to mention AI as many times as possible and our stock will go up”

Fireship is pretty nice to spread the word of unknown corporations like Google

My guess is that 3 years from now: none of these AI projects will be supported.

WebGPU will help lower the cost of running smaller, more efficient AI models locally instead of in the cloud. Very useful for the decentralization of compute power

Speaking of AI, I discovered a Chrome extension called "YouTube Digest" (or "YouTube ChatGPT summarization" in Firefox) that uses ChatGPT to summarize a YouTube video into very nice bullet points by analyzing the video's transcript.

It did pretty well on this video but got a bit confused with the Tailwind CSS joke. 😂

👍 They streamed for 2 hours to tell something that could have been explained perfectly in 5 minutes.

Wow! The Fireship AI channel is doing such a great job summarizing the news of AI using generative AI content!

As a graphics/game programmer Im actually really stoked abt WASM and WebGPU. Its basically a crossplatform and web supported graphics API, so i can ditch Apple’s OpenGL shenanigans + write native apps that can compile to the web.

I'm a little worried about the adblocker thing... as I don't think I could use youtube much longer if I was forced to watch an ever increasing amount of ads

Keeping up with all the tech is a full time job

How is nobody talking about the adblocking part? That's concerning. Well, at least Fireship is on Odysee

I'm totally on board with you covering more tech news and significant updates outside of software :)

Lots of videos like these ignore the most important part. The timing.
Most announcements for programs, services or features were either:
1. In preview for a select few
2. Coming in Summer
3. Coming later this year - google docs "help me write" feature for example
4. Might be behind a paywall which we don't know yet

So right now, Google is playing catch up in my opinion. Microsoft is ahead, because of the work OpenAI has done in the past 3+ years to make GPT-4.
It took OpenAI 6 months after training the model to release it to make it good. That is so much time that Google probably won't have.
Even with thousands of employees it will take them time, which they don't have because investors and stock price.

I can see it though, that in a few years, things will balance itself out when it comes to features in AI, similar to smartphones.

"They showed a Flutter app running in an Angular app, which is a React developer's worst nightmare"
As a React & Flutter developer, I shall test the theory by running a Flutter app inside a Next Project with React Server Components, Server Actions and optimistic updates. What could possibly go wrong?
