And the Army wonders why they have the lowest recruitment ever.

As a 16 year NCO, I saved a troop's 10-year career that I was directly supervising. He was constantly getting paperwork and not following directives. After an incident, I advised him to be seen by my a medical profession. I began putting the puzzle pieces together that he very well may have ADHD. During his the term of his medical evaluation, he was recommended for demotion by the commander, which would have tenured him and forced him to separate. After the medical diagnosis if ADHD came, the commander rescinded the demotion recommendation. I have done many things in my career that I am proud of, but I hang that one instance over my fireplace. Your people are your never-ending mission; forget that and the tactical mission fails.

There’s plenty of others with worse DIRECT traumas that manage to make their appointments, not do illegal drugs and don’t go AWOL. He had plenty help. All he had to do was show up to receive his treatments. 🤷🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

Lottery monies go to veterans and education, why are both groups so underserved? We should help them every chance we have because of dignity and love for our fellow human beings 😊
