In Olaf’s Frozen Adventure in the first song Anna and Elsa sing “first Christmas in forever since we opened up the gates”. To me this means that the adventure took place a few months after the first movie. The. Frozen Fever takes place a year later after the first movie on Anna’s birthday

12:59 "Elsa reverts back to her emo phase."

I laughed so hard, omg. And after, I just imagined Elsa locked in her room which is completely frozen while listening to My Chemical Romance and 2005 Panic! At The Disco.

0:36 A map in Frozen II found in the remains of the ship of the parents of Anna and Elsa shows the same year, so this method of determining the timeline doesn't work. I have used a different method and came up with the following timeline:

Spring 1812: start of the war between the Arendellians and the Northuldra. The fog barrier aroud the Enchanted Forest is put up

21 December 1821: Birth of Elsa

21 June 1825: Birth of Anna

1830: Ballroom accident. Anna's memories of Elsa's powers are removed. The castle gates are closed. Elsa starts living in isolation

7 November 1840: Agnarr and Iduna leave Arendelle to sail to Ahtohallan with the cover story of going to the coronation of king William II of the Netherlands

14 November 1840: A storm hits the Southern Sea. Agnarr and Iduna would have been there according to their cover story and are therfore declared dead

28 November 1840: Coronation of king William II of the Netherlands

July 1843: Coronation of queen Elsa of Arendelle. Elsa accidently sets of a winter over Arendelle, which she is only able to lift after Anna's act of true love. The gates are opened

December 1843: The first Christmas in forever since the gates of Arendelle castle have been opened; Olaf's Frozen Adventure

21 June 1844: Anna's 19th birthday

Autumn 1846: Elsa and Anna journey to the Enchanted Forest. The fog barrier is taken down after 34 years, 5 months and 23 days. Elsa stays in the Enchanted Forest and Anna becomes queen of Arendelle

I determined this timeline by starting with the year on the map Anna found in the waterproof container aboard the ship of her parents. It said MDCCCXL or 1840, so Anna's parents had to have left Arendelle in 1840 or later. Since they left with a cover story that resulted in Anna and Elsa being informed their ship had sank in a storm on the Southern Sea, there had to be a storm there at the time they were supposed to be there according to their cover story. Otherwise, they wouldn't have been declared dead, just missing. This narrowed the possibilities.

I went to look for a Southern Sea that could be reached from Southern Norway (as that is where Arendelle is, as explicitly mentioned in the song 'That time of year' from 'Olaf's Frozen Adventure') within a week (as Anna said "See you in two weeks" when her parents left). The map in 'Frozen Fever' shows the sea south of Arendelle is called Nordsøen or North Sea. This suggests to look south of the North Sea, but today no Southern Sea is to be found there. That is because one that did exist was turned into a lake when a dam called the Afsluitdijk in the Netherlands was built in 1932. Before that, there was a Zuyderzee or Southern Sea there, of which the entire coast belonged to the kingdom of the Netherlands. So at the time Agnarr and Iduna set sail there was a Southern Sea in the Kingdom of the Netherlands. It was located about 800 km (500 miles) away, which fits the 1-week time frame. So their cover story must have been that they were going to the kingdom of the Netherlands.

I went to look for events in the Netherlands in the 1800s after 1840 that would be convenient as a cover for Agnarr and Iduna, given that they were going to Ahtohallan to look for answers to questions as to how to help Elsa gain control over her powers. Those wouldn't be events that would be predetermined long in advance, otherwise they would have picked events closer to home so they could have more control over the planning. The events I found were the coronation of king William II in 1840, the coronation of king William III in 1849 and the coronation of queen Wilhelmina in 1898. It doesn't seem believable to travel to Ahtohallan with an 58 year old map, so I dismissed the latter option. The second option I dismissed because that coronation happened in late spring, well outside the storm season of the Souther Sea. The 1840 coronation took place in late autumn, so during the storm season. Therefore the coronation of king William II of the Netherlands was almost certainly used as the cover story for the journey to Ahtohallan.

However, researching the weather in the weeks leading up to the coronation revealed that the last storm before the coronation on 28 November happened on 14 November. This would create the question why the cover story would be believable if it would have resulted in Iduna and Agnarr arriving two weeks early for the coronation ceremony. The answer is probably that Agnarr and Iduna didn't want to miss the coronation and faked that they had made a mistake, so they would have the time to go to Ahtohallan and still return in time to go to the coronation after all. So their full cover story was that they wanted to attend the coronation of king William II of the Netherlands, but had made a mistake as to what date it was. Therefore they set sail so they would be at the Southern Sea on 14 November, so 7 November would be the date they set sail.

Now that I had determined that point in time, I could work forward from there. According to the title card after the end of 'Do you want to build a snowman' Elsa's coronation took place 3 years later, so in 1843. When Elsa had set off the winter, Oaken commented "Quite a howler in July", so those events took place in July 1843. It is also mentioned outside the films that Elsa was born on the winter solstice and Anna on the summer solstice, that Elsa was 21 and Anna 18, so from there it is possible to determine the days they were born: 21 December 1821 and 21 June 1825. The ballroom accident is mentioned outside the films to have happened when Elsa was 8 and Anna was 5, so somewhere between 21 June 1830 and 21 December 1830. Then the events from 'Olaf's Frozen Adventure' took place 'The first Christmas in forever since we opened up the gates', so December 1843 and the events of Frozen Fever took place on Anna's 19th birthday on 21 June 1844. Finally, the events of Frozen II took place in autumn 1846. That it is autumn can be seen from the autumn leaves in Arendelle during 'Some things never change' and that it is 1846 can be determined from that it is mentioned outside of the films that Frozen II is set 3 years after Frozen. Given that the fog barrier was in place for 34 years, 5 months and 23 days, it went up in spring 1812.
