Opel made some beautiful and reliable cars. Me and my father were big fans of Opel. I still am. From the 1.3 Kadett to the 3.0 Senator. We had them all. Very nice!!!!

I had one of these in college. That car was so fun to drive...when it ran. That 2 stage Solex carb was nothing but trouble. Left me stranded many times

Love the American version of the 1970 Kadett Rallye.. front grille treatment wrapped around the front corners and the rear taillights wrapped around the corners better, no trim inside but larger red areas.. flat black areas on hood aren't supposed to be waxed shiny! Flat black is much better! Love the 1.9L engine, made 102 HP and would chirp the tires in 3rd gear 🥰

The one in the video is a very nice car.
I don't know for sure when I had my Rallye Kadett. But, 1970 sounds about right
I didn't know the car. I just needed something to drive.
It was a sleeper. It was much faster than I expected it to be. It was the first I heard about 2 bbl carburetors that worked like a 4 bbl--you floor it and the second barrel kicks in.
It had the 1.9 liter motor. It might not sound like much. But, it was the larger model. I think the standard Kadett offering was 1.1 liters.
Mine was silver with black stripes. Silver never was a good color for a car. It wasn't very old. But, it still had the fading and loss of luster you often see with silver.
I had a lot of fun in mine. I also liked the European design of the interior and dashboard.

I am looking for new rims for my Kaddett B and to keep the stock ones w/ orig. hubcaps, but I am not sure if I must stay w/ 13" rims, or go taller?.. My '66 Karavan wagon had stock 14" on it..?

I am just reminiscing about a 1969 Opel Kadett Rallye I had bought back in 1981. Cool little car. I remember there were these 2 guys that wanted the Opel and traded me a 1971 Malibu for it.
The 2 guys wanted the Opel because they wanted to put 440 engine in it. I have no idea if they ever did that or not

Wenn man mit diesem Geschoß nicht aufgepasst hat, war man schneller im Strassengraben, als es passiert ist. Damals einfach eine Rakete.
