The default aircraft profiles are often difficult to understand and manage. This guide will help you create your own profiles for your aircraft. In Part 1 of this configuration guide series we set up all the common functions to the axis and buttons on the VelocityOne Flight Yoke and Throttle Quadrant. In part 2, (which will be coming shortly) we will configure the VelocityOne Flight with different profiles to suit different aircraft types.

I cannot thank you enough for putting together this easy to follow video. First time user of the Velocity One and I had no clue as to how to get it working. Please enjoy a little token of gratitude from me. Watching from Las Vegas, NV.

This is exactly what Turtle Beach should have on their channel as tutorial for users. Thank you very much for the time and effort.

Mark,

I was so frustrated, having no clue how to do what you have demonstrated. Now I am so happy! You are very generous to take the time and trouble to help all of we newbies get the most out of the powerful VelocityOne device. Bravo!!

Just received mine today, I’ve got a headache after 8 hours of trial and error setting profiles for the Cessna 152 and TBM 930. I didn’t build from scratch but instead stripped out the single prop profile. I actually set my Hat-1 to Pilot views(up and down) and once in instrument view I can toggle left and right between instrument views. Trial and error setting the levers for TBM but now I’ve got throttle, landing gear and flaps configured. The only other change I made was smart look combining LB and B2 as this was more representative of when I used the Xbox controller. I think I’ll follow your video tomorrow to build a base profile. I’ve blamed you to the Wife for the expense, your community fly-ins are very good 👍, cheers for effort you make for the community, great video. Tonydarkzero.

Thank you for the very detailed video! I just ordered this yoke along with the rudder pedals for my Series X and anxiously awaiting delivery. Your review video really helped me when deciding to buy this set up. This video is going to help me alot when settling up my yoke when it arrives! Some of your suggestions I didn't even think of when planning it out in my head and I love how you brake it down step by step making it easy to follow along with! If you don't already have a video out I would also love to see how you would set up a multi engine plane for the velocity one. I've been wanting to get into those planes but have been pretty hard to fly with the Thrustmaster Hotas One that I've been using. Can't wait to get my Velocity One in a couple days!

Thank you for this & all of your other msfs content! This yoke was a little overwhelming at first, but you ability to break it down Barney style was a massive help.

Mark Thank you very much for this excellent guide! I have been a legacy X-Plane player on a Mac. Between that and being much older was finding switching to Flight Sim 2020 very frustrating despite its glorious eye candy. This video was a wonderful discovery with your experienced insights on setting up operations in addition to your suggestions on use of 2020 features.

Excellent video. Just received the VelocityOne yesterday. Struggled with the buttons with the exception of the obvious controls. So happy to watch your video. Why Turtle Beach couldn't have offered more literature is beyond comprehension. Found how to successfully update the controller firmware (crucial) in conjunction with the Xbox on the internet. That also would have been helpful with some information in the packaging. The quality of the device and the careful packaging were great. It should be noted that the alert panel (SIP) behind the yoke are awaiting firmware update before they are totally functional (at least on Xbox).
Thanks again, much appreciated.

Nice videos Mark. Just a tip about real world flying. Rudder and aileron trims aren't used to counter crosswinds aloft. Set a crab angle and leave your trims alone. 100 knot airspeed, 20 knot 90 degree crosswind, and nose 12 degrees into the wind is a basic setup to stay on course for 172's. Using a E6B will give results for other wind speeds and angles. I would keep the rudder/aileron hats free for other purposes and assign a keyboard command for the few times you may them. Set your autopilot for GPS and VS mode and you'll never touch a trim anywhere.

I am not a senior simmer having joined the community in Feb’23.Your tutorials and videos on various subjects have been of immense help in learning the ropes of this marvellous game or better still Flight Simulator.I started with Thrustmaster Hotas One configuring which was a breeze. Having gained reasonable experience I thought it would be a good idea to upgrade which I did in the shape of Turtle Beach Velocity One.I am on Xbox and Velocity has been acquired just a week ago.It also appears updated with firmware of 1.0.0.I straight away got down configuring it following your videos but got frustrated due not getting the configuration right despite following every step as per your videos. The bindings though correct are not confirmed by the movement of axis in the white horizontal bar.I just don’t seem to understand where I am going wrong or is it some kind of a bug which is not letting it to work.I did read on FS forums that people faced similar issues and it was flagged as a bug in earlier stages.I would appreciate if you can give me some pointers to troubleshoot this bug.

Turtle Beach should be sponsoring your channel. Thank you.
I haven't bought one yet as I'm trying to figure out how to use the rudder triggers on the yoke for taxing and be able to reach over and adjust the throttle without also buying the rudder pedals as I just can't afford to buy that too or maybe I should buy a flight stick with the rudder control built into the twist of the stick. Again, thank you!😊

Brilliant video for those who want to try and understand how to assign controls from xbox controller and transfer to velocity after purchasing. Makes very good tutorial on how to and helping understand the terminology of the aircraft controls and applying them to your new velocity. Fantastic video

Just wan to say that a new firmeware update is available for Velocity one. With this the reverse thrust toogle option now works. You pull your levers completly back and than forward and you can controll your reverse thrust.

Here’s a suggestion for the case of taildraggers, when you need soft/subtle braking… you can assign two of the throttle levers to the left and right brake axis 💡
