Digital fabrication, a tale of two worlds: Christian Weichel at TEDxLancasterU

Christian Weichel is a human-computer interaction researcher at Lancaster University. He has published research papers and articles, recently winning a SIGCHI Best Paper award for his work. Coming from a computer-science background, he is interested in how digital fabrication can blur the line between physical and virtual space. His research revolves around new interfaces, applications and ideas that help bringing both spaces together. This will empower more people to create meaningful objects, and enable new applications for digital fabrication.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
