Alan Grant spend the beginning of the first film teaching a child about how raptors don’t go for the jugular like a lion. In this film, he amends his original statement, and he now realizes that raptors really are smart enough to go for the throat. He’s also smart enough to follow Owen’s lead when they’re trying to catch the baby raptor, and he listens to Owen speak about how they should triangulate their approach. Ellie Satler can also be seen wearing a ring that is an oval piece of amber with something trapped inside. This alludes to Dr. Hammond’s walking stick that had a mosquito encased in amber.

If there's one thing I wanted the answer to is I thought Owen would say to Dr Grant " Do you remember the kid that called a velociraptor a six foot turkey, that was me. After your influence, I went to the military, and I trained raptors in Jurassic World". That would have been a great twist.
