What happens when an SUV going 75 miles-per-hour down a highway is hacked from a remote computer? Two researchers in Pittsburgh want to make sure we never find out. As cars have become more automated, they’re becoming more hackable. But the only way to stop car hacking is to actually learn how to hack into cars and uncover their vulnerabilities. In this episode of Coded by Freethink, we interview white hat hackers Charlie Miller and Chris Valasek about their efforts to make cars more secure and less vulnerable to being hacked.

And follow Freethink across other platforms here:

Autonomous cars with untrained drivers is like an autonomous rifle in the hands of a soldier that hasn't been trained over and over in odd situations. It's already been proved a car is nothing but a big bullet in the wrong hands. For instance, officer I don't know what happened, my car just lost control and ran into a crowd that my ex boyfriend which I hate was standing in, don't blame me. Or was it the car and or did someone do it to frame her.???
