Video compilation featuring ambulances of the Kyoto fire department responding in downtown as well as some police cars. Japanese ambulances are equipped with a hi-lo two tone as well as a wail siren and usually the crews make PA annoucements to the other drivers. This is very common in Japan, the purpose is to let the people know how they have to react and which way the emergency vehicle is going to take //

I love how polite the Japanese are, the man working traffic at 4:31 bowed to the drivers he had stopped. Haha.

Such a beautiful sight. When I see an Japanese emergency vehicle I feel relieved. The sirens sound so friendly but scary too. I wanna go Japan XD!

Their ambulance looks so futuristic. Then again, they are about 10 years ahead of us or so =P

"If I die because someone was driving about 10 to 15 MPH, that would be O.K." Said no one ever... lol

Ambulances in my country probably drive double the speed.

Ambulance service is free in Japan and people call them for everything but they are required to use lights and sirens for each call. No point of reckless driving for a minor call.

In Japan, even the siren sounds are soothing, and their driving is very polite

Does all the ambulances in Japan belong to the fire dept or do they have some private ambulance services like in America?

This nice, to call an Ambulance is in the mostly countries of the European Union free too.

But in cities normally more as one car / apparatus is called.

I guess they drive slowly, because it is a big city with lots of traffic. I mean there are easily 5 or 6 lanes and huge junctions. Going over it very quickly and traffic comes from the side and crash. It actually makes sense for them to drive a bit more carefully, rather than to risk it.
