It is actually quite normal for components to be “missing” or bridged. They’d have designed the pcb and ordered like 10, 000 of them, but then changed the design. And if the pcbs they ordered could still work with a couple bridges and stuff then they’d use them. Saves ordering another 10k pcbs

These need to be uploaded before the main video gets uploaded

TBH missing components dont mean faulty unit. I used to work in a company that was making industrial led displays and we had a single board fitting multiple versions of the display. So depending on the version there were blank spots and components would wary. It was to cut costs on storing and manufacturing diffrent boards.

Your missing components seem unnecessary:
Looks like the input filtering is removed from the right side because it is sharing the filtering on the left
The other components missing appear to be for the other voltage rails (ie not 12V) which the right side doesn't seem to provide

you mentioned in the last wan show why you are doing shorts, and i agree that it is a good way to appease a different target audience (just be frank its the people sitting on a toilet with their smartphone) and make more of the footage that was shot for the main video.

but they also work really great as teasers for the whole video. that is, if they come out before the full length video....

The question remains: Does it go Bang good?

And that only the second board has parts missing, and that one of the missing parts could be an full bridge rectifier, just means that the first board has all of it

Woah, you should make a full video about it!

Ferb! That bomb we sold to ltt finally paid off!

Those wires are used as resistors, and not every component that was added by the silkscreen onto a pcb needs to be there. It gives the designer the ability to change the output, the function, etc... is this your first time seeing the pcb on the inside of a power supply??!

it only needs one full bridge rectifier ...

just saying, if ltt sold flat caps, I would definitely buy one

Also to the viewers. DONT POKE AROUND A PSU WITH A SCREWDRIVER OR OPEN IT. It "can" kill you.

The shorts should really come before the main video

Yeah you see “missing” components on various PCBs all the time in the medical industry. Designs can change so they work with what they already have if they can

Other side of the PCB may be used just for all 12v rail, didn’t need all these components

Significantly better than the previous short about this video, IMHO
