I remember reading about him, Booker T. Washington when I was in School, at the end of reading about him I was to do a book report on him. Instead I ended up doing my report o how his College that he founded and help build was instrumental in the training of pilots of the 332nd Expeditionary Operations Group or what became the Tuskegee Airmen or simply Red Tails. And how they accomplish the mission of protecting the bombers.

And it was through Booker T. Washington was how I learned of the Tuskegee Airmen.

I will admit Roosevelts lack of action when it comes to discrimination and racism was a bit of a sad thing but he tried playing the "if I keep everyone at least somewhat happy I win" but it also made it so things would stay pretty much the same but he was just looking out for his country

Wilson was born in 1857 Virginia. PHD from Princeton. Roosevelt was Harvard taught, yet went Cowboy after his 1st wife, & mother died on Feb, 14. He was open minded, friends with the Great Plains Indian. Hence y he on Mt.Rushmore.

I am a white person. But I just have to say. Booker T Washington is one of my favorite people from modern History. He really started from nothing and made a school and a name for himself. With every word he spoke there was years of experience behind it. He helped black people understand the value of hard work even after they had been enslaved for over 100 years. He literally build Tuskegee college with his own made bricks. (Timber was donated with no expectation of returning the payment) Truly a great man of American history. Too bad he is overshadowed my Malcom X and MLK jr.

TR was a racist, but his racism was unique.
Most racists think the victims of their racism are inferior in some way.
Teddy thought there was a racial competition that the whites were winning, but there was no inherent inferiority that would guarantee that.
